Privacy Policy
- Summit Learn is used by children, so we collect as little personal information as we can.
- We never sell personal information, and we never use children’s information for advertising.
- A child’s learning information is seen only by their parent, any tutor the parent links, and the Summit Learn team when needed.
- The pages children use have no analytics or advertising tracking.
- Parents can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete their child’s information.
1. Who we are
This policy explains how Summit Edu Pty Ltd (ACN 691 358 880), trading as Summit Learn (ABN 32 691 358 880) (we, us), handles personal information on summitlearn.com.au and the Summit Learn learning platform, parent portal and tutor portal. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

| Everyone | Device and browser type, and records of logins and login attempts. | To keep accounts secure and the platform working |
We don’t collect children’s addresses, dates of birth, photos, school names or contact details. We ask parents and tutors not to type health, diagnosis or family information into any notes or comment box.
3. How we collect it
- From parents, when you do the free check, sign up, or add a child.
- From tutors. When a tutor invites a family, the tutor gives us the parent’s email address and, if they choose, the child’s first name, so we can send the invitation.
- Automatically, as your child uses the platform (answers, scores and progress).
- From tutors who apply to join, through our website form and by email.
4. How we use it
- To run the platform, set the right work for each child and show progress.
- To process subscriptions and payments.
- To send account and service emails, such as welcome messages and sign-in links.
- To send your free check report and follow-up emails about Summit Learn. Every follow-up email has an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the platform safe and secure, and to meet our legal obligations.
5. Who can see it
| Who | What they can see |
|---|---|
| You (the parent) | Everything about your own children’s learning. |
| A tutor you link | Your child’s name, year level, progress, results and assessments, only while the link is active. Tutors can’t see your payment details. |
| Tutor notes | Notes a tutor writes about a student are private to that tutor (and, in a tutoring business, its owner and managers). Comments a tutor writes for you are shown to you. |
| Families | Linked families see their tutor’s business name, logo and comments. They don’t see a tutor’s personal contact details or check details. |
| Summit Learn | Only the people who need it to run the platform and help you. Tutors’ Working with Children Check details are seen only by our director. |
| Authorities | Police or government bodies, only where the law requires or allows it, including to protect a child’s safety. |
Tutors who use Summit Learn run their own independent businesses. Summit Learn is a third party to a tutor’s business, and is not responsible for how a tutor handles information outside the platform.
We never sell personal information, give it to other families or to tutors you haven’t linked, or share it with other businesses for their marketing. We refer families to a tutor only if that tutor has agreed to be referred.
6. Companies that help us, and where data is stored
We use these service providers. They may use personal information only to provide their service to us. Some store information outside Australia.
| Provider | What they do | Where information is stored |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Our database and logins | South Korea (Seoul) |
| Netlify | Hosts our website and website forms | United States and other countries |
| Stripe | Processes payments | Australia, United States and other countries |
| Resend | Sends our emails | United States |
| Website statistics (Google Analytics) on public pages only, and the fonts on one parent page | United States and other countries | |
| Meta | Measures our advertising, on public pages only | United States and other countries |
7. Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use cookies and browser storage that are needed to keep you logged in and to run the platform.
On our public pages for parents and tutors (such as the home page, guides, sign-up and subscribe pages), we also use Google Analytics, to understand how people use the site, and the Meta Pixel, to measure our advertising. When a parent gives us their email to receive a report, sign up or subscribe, we may send Meta a scrambled (hashed) version of that email, and for a purchase the name on the payment, so we can tell whether our advertising works.
We never send children’s names, answers or results to Google or Meta. There is no analytics or advertising tracking on the pages children use: the free check questions and results, the student login, and the learning areas. To see how the free check is used, we count how many checks are started and finished each day in our own database. Those counts hold no personal information.
You can limit tracking through your browser settings or an ad blocker, and through your ad preferences in your Meta and Google accounts.
8. Children
- Accounts for children are created by a parent, sometimes after an invitation from their tutor.
- Children don’t need an email address, and we don’t email children.
- We don’t use children’s information for marketing or advertising.
- Australia’s Children’s Online Privacy Code is due to be registered by December 2026. We will review our practices against it.
9. Keeping it safe
- Passwords and PINs are stored scrambled, and repeated wrong PIN attempts are limited.
- All connections to the platform are encrypted.
- Tutors can see only the students linked to them.
- Only the people who need it can access personal information.
No system is completely secure. If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will tell the people affected and notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where the law requires.
10. How long we keep it
- Parent and child accounts: while the account is open. If a subscription ends, we keep your child’s learning record for 12 months so they can carry on if you return, and then delete it. We delete it sooner if you ask.
- Free check details: for 12 months, or until you unsubscribe and ask us to delete them.
- Tutor accounts: while the account is open. If a tutor’s application doesn’t go ahead, we delete their check details within 3 months. After a tutor account closes, we keep a record of it and the check details for 7 years for child safety and legal purposes, and then delete them.
11. Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- see the information we hold about you or your child;
- correct it;
- delete your child’s profile and learning record, or close your account; or
- stop sending you follow-up emails (or use the unsubscribe link).
We will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm who you are first.
12. Questions and complaints
Email summittutoring@outlook.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If we make an important change, we will tell account holders by email or on the platform. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
