Tutor Partner Terms

Last updated: 15 October 2026
The short version
  • The Tutor Partner Programme is free for approved tutors.
  • Families subscribe and pay Summit Learn directly, so there is nothing for you to collect.
  • Keep your Working with Children Check current.
  • Use our questions and lessons through the platform, and use what you see there only to help your students learn.

You agree to these terms when you submit the tutor application form.

1. The programme

1.1 These terms are between you and Summit Edu Pty Ltd (ACN 691 358 880), trading as Summit Learn (ABN 32 691 358 880) (Summit, we, us).

1.2 The Tutor Partner Programme is free for approved tutors. We approve accounts at our discretion.

1.3 You must be 18 or over and teach within Years 4–10, in maths, English or both.

1.4 Families subscribe and pay Summit directly. Don’t charge families for Summit or quote them a different price.

1.5 If we ever introduce fees for tutors, we’ll give you 30 days’ notice and you can leave first.

2. Keeping your account open

2.1 Your account is free and fully open for your first 30 days.

2.2 After that, it stays free and open while at least one of your families has a child on the plan.

2.3 If none of your families has had a child on the plan for 30 days, we’ll email you first. If nothing changes, we may pause your account, and we’ll reopen it when one of your families subscribes.

3. Summit is a third party

3.1 Your tutoring business, and your arrangements with your families, are yours alone.

3.2 Summit’s only relationship with a family is their subscription, which gives their children access to our learning tools. You choose whether to use those tools alongside your tutoring.

3.3 You are not our employee or agent. You are responsible for your tutoring, fees, tax and insurance, and for anyone you add to your account.

3.4 We don’t guarantee you any families, referrals or income.

4. Working with Children Checks

4.1 You must hold every Working with Children Check (or equivalent) the law requires for your work, and make sure anyone you add to your account does too.

4.2 We check your details when you apply, but keeping your check current is your responsibility. Tell us if it changes, expires or is cancelled.

4.3 We may suspend an account straight away if we become aware of a concern about a child’s safety.

5. Our content

5.1 Everything on the platform belongs to Summit, including lessons, questions, worksheets, reports, videos, software, designs, and our name and logo.

5.2 You may use it through the platform, for the families linked to you, while your account is open. You may show or send a student’s results and reports to that student’s family.

5.3 Don’t copy our questions, lessons or worksheets into your own resources, share or sell them, use them to build a competing product, or use them to train AI tools.

5.4 Your logo and business name stay yours. You allow us to show them to your linked families.

6. Information about students

6.1 Information you already hold about your families is yours. This section covers only what you see on the platform, such as results and reports, which parents have given to Summit.

6.2 Use it only to support the student’s learning. Don’t share or sell it, and keep your notes to learning notes only (no health, diagnosis or family information).

6.3 Your access to a student ends when their family unlinks from you, or when your account is paused or closed.

6.4 Keep your login secure and don’t share it.

6.5 Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and your families’ information.

7. Using the platform

7.1 Don’t misuse the platform. That includes unlawful use, hacking, scraping, bots and offensive content.

7.2 We may change or remove features at any time. We don’t promise the platform will always be available or error-free, or any particular learning result.

8. Liability

8.1 As far as the law allows, Summit is not liable for any loss of income, business, families, data or reputation, or any indirect loss. Nor is Summit liable for any loss arising from your tutoring, your arrangements with families, a missing or expired check, or your account being paused, suspended or closed.

8.2 If Summit is ever liable to you, our liability is limited to restoring your access to the platform.

8.3 You cover Summit, its directors and its staff against claims by others arising from your tutoring, your conduct, a missing or expired check, or your breach of these terms, except to the extent Summit caused the loss.

8.4 Any claim must be made against Summit, not its directors or staff personally.

9. Ending and changes

9.1 You can close your account at any time by emailing us.

9.2 We may close an account with 30 days’ notice, or straight away for a serious breach or a concern about a child’s safety. When your account closes, your access to the platform and its content ends. Families keep their subscriptions with Summit.

9.3 We’ll give you 30 days’ notice of changes to these terms that affect you. If you keep using the platform after that, you accept them.

10. General

10.1 These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland.

10.2 If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
